So the guy who sells electric cars laughs at the notion of a hydrogen powered engine?
Yes

So the people at Toyota are just clueless and like to waste money?

There are people here who actually think hydrogen cars are more feasible than electric cars

quote:Electricity is easier to find than gasoline before, during, and after a disaster. Generators are ubiquitous in areas prone to hurricanes. A gallon of diesel burned in a generator and used to charge an EV will drive the car farther than burning that gallon directly in a similarly-sized car. An EV can serve as a generator in a pinch.
hurricane hits and electric grid is down, you can’t move because you don’t have access to electricity.
EVs are ideal disaster vehicles.
quote:The vast majority of charging happens at night when demand on the grid is low. And as it happens, demand on the grid tends to be highest during the day where people and their cars are. All of those parked vehicles could be contributing to the grid's supply during these times instead of adding to demand.
If everyone starts charging their car we will have rolling blackouts due to high demand.
EVs are the solution to rolling blackouts.
quote:Not seeing the problem.
Can all of this be overcome?
quote:EVs will save us a lot of money. Cutting transportation costs turns into savings in every industry.
Yeah, but it will take trillions
