Honestly when I was in hs and had speakers in the trunk it sounded better with the windows down. Less pressure and deeper bass.

It is for some... not for all.. When I had an obnoxiously loud stereo in my car in HS and college I couldn't stand to hear rattle.. I enjoyed a much cleaner sound I guess..

Yeah, I completely agree. I mean I still enjoy a good sounding car audio setup.. but to be my age(not quite 40) an still be blasting the eardrums and annoying people next to me...no gotta draw the line.. most decent new cars today have really nice factory sound..that gets loud , but not to the point of the window rattling nonsense out there

The following is a true story:
I almost got shot at the Racetrack on Bluebonnet because some dick in a fancy car pulled up, left his "mother frick this, mother frick that" music blaring while he went in the store. My kids were with me so I opened his door, got in his car and turned the radio off.

I don't do it for other people to hear, I do it because the song is awesome and there isn't a setting loud enough for me to experience the song in all it's glory.

I mean shite the factory Bose radio in my car gets really frickin loud.. but it can't be heard further than 50 feet from the car..

same question about why people make their cars/trucks ridiculously loud with headers/glass pacs? people like to make their cars noisy to let erryone know how cool they be.
