I believe in some cases it is incurable. I've been to multiple ENT's, 2 neurotoligists (neurologists who specialize in nerve disorders of the ear) to no avail. I've had surgery on my inner ear. I've tried everything mentioned in this thread. I've lost 100% hearing in one ear and all that's left is raging tinnitus, day in and day out, as well as vertigo.
Panda said earlier it's about fluid in the inner ear and I believe that's a big part of it. keeping your salt intake to less than 1800mg/day and avoiding alcohol can help in controlling the chemical make up of that fluid.
