This brings the total up to seven. Before it's all said and done DA Abel Renya is going to drive the City of Waco into bankruptcy.

quote:

Three bikers arrested after the Twin Peaks shootout in Waco have joined the ranks of seven others who are suing McLennan County, Waco and state officials, alleging civil rights violations.

quote:

The suit, filed by Dallas attorney Don Tittle, alleges unlawful arrest and due process violations and alleges the plaintiffs were arrested with no evidence that they committed any crimes or had any ties to warring biker groups the Bandidos or the Cossacks.

quote:

Matcek and Smith are identified in the lawsuit as members of the Line Riders Motorcycle Club, which the suit says has no affiliation with either the Bandidos or Cossacks. Matcek, according to the lawsuit, was running late and was not even at Twin Peaks at the eruption of the firefight, which left nine bikers dead and more than 20 wounded.

Once he arrived, Waco police allowed Matcek, Terwilliger and Smith to take one of their wounded friends to the hospital, the suit says. They were arrested later in the parking lot of a closed business as their friend was being treated.

Did you watch the CNN special on the Waco shootout?

Curious about your thoughts if you did...

I did watch it. It failed to tell the whole story and only in the last few minutes started scratching the surface of what it was all about. All in all, I was quite disappointed in the shoddy reporting by CNN.

This is fascinating. And I say that with the utmost sarcasm. Nobody gives a shite. At all.

I mean I'm sure there is a small group that does. And I'm sure that small group has it's own message board.

You probably really should write a book. The bikers would talk to you because you're one of them. You could be the next aging rebel.

I'll proofread for you as a token of Auburn loyalty

What are your thoughts about the insane number of weapons found at the scene? Many of which were illegal? (and machetes, brass knuckles, etc)

Also, do you rest any blame on either MC for the altercation? Clearly they were ready to brawl and seems like this could have been avoided.

Obviously law enforcement handled this the wrong way afterwards with the detainment of so many people and ridiculous bail.

That's the biggest problem with this story. So many people are completely hung up on the fact this happened to bikers that they've allowed themselves to be blinded to one of the biggest cases of the Constitution being shite upon in the history of this country. It's sad to see how so many are perfectly happy with blatant government abuse of power and outright violation of the law all because it happened to a group they don't like. The fact this matter involves bikers is beside the point. Too many people fail to see that though.

Eventually one probably will. After all the lawsuits are wrapped up, which could take years.

There's already seven federal lawsuits against Waco. Then there's the cost of the eventual trials of over 150 people. When it's all said and done, this whole thing is going to cost the City of Waco untold millions. And the worst part of it all is the vast majority of it is nothing but wasted money prosecuting people the DA knows full well are totally innocent.
