This isn't an opinion thread. If it was people wouldn't be getting upset because others don't agree.

Well lucky you. Hopefully you never have to experience a family member or good friend lose the battle against mental depression and realize your opinion is kind of silly,

Well, since it's an opinion thread..

I think that's a pretty half-baked opinion. People love finding something/someone to blame because it's much easier than admitting the truth of it. shite happens and we have almost no control over it. We make choices, sure, but those choices are constrained by the wetware our genetics and environment have built for us. Predisposition towards suicide doesn't make you more or less deserving of respect.

Makes sense considering, but that's pathetic (if true).

You can't just put mental illness aside.

These individuals did. If you have had a friend who did it you would understand my meaning. You see them one day and they are fine..the next, gone. They were able to survive but not able to ask for help. It's ridiculous. I've been in tight spots and didn't want to ask for help but you know what, I picked up the phone. A baws ego is his worst enemy.

Mental Illness is an excuse. My dad is in his 60s, I state this to say he has many friends, connections etc across the state. I have seen more suicides in the last 5-6 years that he has seen in his 60 plus years in Louisiana according to him.

The problem is people are fake today. The people you see on FB are not usually the same person day to day. This altered reality really messes with some baws. They can't handle that their lives are not as good as so and sos. That is weak baw.

You know this is right. People are coveting other's lives and snapping out. It's sad and and almost pathetic. Be happy with what you have but always strive for more, it's called Life.

Well you seem upset that people are saying suicide is selfish/cowardly.

Wow. You have no idea what you're talking about, frankly. Some people may fake mental illness but that says absolutely nothing about the seriousness of actual mental illness. Do some reading. I'd be happy to provide you with some material.

There is just so much wrong with this post. You should probably start with googling suicide statistics by decade.

Upset isn't really the right word. Not sure why you feel the need to be insulting because someone doesn't share your opinion.

Yes because statistics have everything to do with thoughts on funeral for suicide.

Well said, and just saying someone is pre-disposed or acknowledging / empathizing with some of the factors which played a role in their decision doesn't mean I think they had no control, that it was inevitable or that i think it was a reasonable choice.

Reporting suicide as an actual cause of death plays into this as well. Suicide is only recently being reported as an official cause of death. Decades ago they wouldn't allow it.
