Why would it offend teachers? If I teach Algebra to high school kids does that mean I can't "do" algebra? The certification test I took and passed says I can. Or do you mean I couldn't "do" it well enough to get a "real" job? It doesn't really fit for teachers unless you are talking about college professors.

Regardless of what teachers think, I'll take them seriously when they work for more than 10 months out of the year.

Most teachers get education degrees with a focus, so they are doing what they want.

Professor teach when they aren't doing.
