Get two. They tend to have separation anxiety when no one is at home.

You missed the point. Greyhounds that arent adopted after racing are put down. Racetracks don't house dogs that cant race. Thus adopting is "rescued". Only the top of the top are bred.

Neighbor across the street had one for years. Really good dog. Neighbor cried for days when the dog died.

Worked at a vet in high school and we had an old greyhound that lived there at the clinic. She was our blood donor dog (assume she was type O negative). Sally was a sweet dog. She was very intelligent and always fun to chase around outside . She would put her neck and shoulder into you and try to cut you off when running alongside you just to stay in front. It’s in their genes.
