Doug Engelbart introduces concepts in 1968 we use today
These are just a few highlights from his presentation in 1968 when introducing the mouse, video conferencing, hyperlinks, and other technology we use today. I find it absolutely amazing the imagination of the early computer engineers who foresaw and built the foundation for the internet and modern smart phone. I wasn't even a twinkle in my dad's eye when all of this was being built and imagined. Truly incredible.

Of course he was able to predict the future technology because he was obviously privy to the alien tech that we reverse engineered.
Kidding of course....
You ever see the Star Trek episode that uses iPads like 30 years ago.

In the early 80's we were looking over floor plans for a new fraternity house when our nerdy computer science major said, "We should have a small computer room." After we stopped laughing, he said, "Everyone is going to have their own computer, it would be nice if we had a room with desks and phone jacks so that people could get on the university's network and wherever."
Our response was, "Okay Spock. We'll put your computer desks in the transporter room."
