Tennessee Baws, Happy Battle of the Ballots/Battle of Athens Victory Day

Long story short... WWII vets returning home (with money) start getting accosted by the corrupt sheriff & political system in place in McMinn County, Tennessee
They get tired of it & start their own political party to try to unseat the corrupt politicians in place
On election day, Aug. 1, 1946, it becomes apparent the politicians are trying to rig the count to keep power
Firefight ensues between the 2 sides at the county jail where the politicians are trying to do the count in secret... with the veterans & their supporters able to get to the ballot box, weed out the fakes, & do a count in public
The count shows the veterans side wins almost every race
A day later, Aug. 2, 1946, the veterans candidates are able to fully claim victory over the political system
It's the only successful armed rebellion against a sitting US government in American history
