How is it living there? Good place for a family? My wife (no pics, you couldn’t afford her) is from the north shore, but that’s a long commute from there. I don’t really know much about it, I’m from north Louisiana.

TIA

You would be crazy to move from the Northshore to Chalmette. Unless you're talking HI, the commute for work is not that bad taking the twin spans. If your wife is as "expensive" as you claim she is, she will never allow you to move there.

my father worked there for 30+ years but commuted from Metairie. No way he would live there, it's just a different breed of people.

Place is a dump. Work there if you need to, do NOT reside there. From what I see you work in the medical field? Imagine the absolute worst hospital you've spent time at, that's nothing compared to the people and facilities in Chalmette.
lol, the hospital in chalmette is brand new. There are some decent neighborhoods in the chalmette. It’s not as bad as this thread is making it out to be. And you could live pretty much anywhere on the Southshore and commute there .

Also, I’m not from chalmette so not a homer comment

Really good taco truck right outside the 9th ward that you’d be close to.

The Parish gets a lot of flack, but Chalmetians are good people. The ones I know are friendly, animated, hilarious, and full of personality.
