A lot of cadets at our military academies were scouts. The Scouts teach valuable lessons and skills to children that serve most of them very well in life later on.
I did scouts until 5th grade, until sports started taking up too much time. I had a very good troop with a great leader and a lot of parental involvement from people who knew what they were doing, too. I've also seen some pretty bad scout troops. To be fair, most of the bad ones are that way because they are supported parents who really don't know what they are doing. Their heart is in the right place, but camping in your 1/4 acre backyard and roasting hotdogs over your fire pit that you started with an aim n flame and lighter fluid isn't really teaching the children much.

Are you really confined to a wheelchair? i see people post this. Im not trying to be an a-hole, but I would think may make survival much more difficult.
Yes I am and the fact you assume that is part of my survival plan.

I spent the last few months in a wheelchair. It would make survival incredibly difficult.

I have a feeling A LOT of people would have a problem after the lights went out for good.

yep
its just a ridiculous article to even dream of writing for the outdoors section. Todd would be in the fetal position without twitter and kevin ford's facebook to comment on
