Spiritual guides/healers - any stories?

One of my bros went out west and came back with a story of seeing a spiritual guide or healer. He said he (the guide dude) said a bunch of stuff about past lives and spirits that, to me, seems pretty far out there. Yet, my buddy says some of it resonated with him and got him thinking about some of his problems in a different way. Also, he said the guy did some kind of thing where he made his hands change temperature.
Any of you ever dabbled in this kind of thing? You can admit it. We won't judge.
Or just talk about some spiritual experiences. I personally believe there is only what we perceive as the material world, and nothing else. I don't get Deja vu or sense any past life shite.

Probably a Reiki Master I know a women that's into it. She can make heat radiate from her hands. It's pretty cool. Now if she was hot it would be really cool

It's called cold reading and the power of perception/suggestion.
It's an ancient art.

Around 1972, my uncle (my mom's brother) had recently graduated from LSU.
That summer he came back up to north Louisiana and found a job working for a highline electrical company. His job was to climb up light poles and rig up the electrical cables that you see along highways. One day he climbed up a light pole rotten at its base that the inspection team had overlooked. When he got to the top, his weight made the pole give way, and it essentially fell like a chopped tree all the way to the ground. He was harnessed to the pole, so it brought him with it, and crushed him underneath. He lost all life function on the spot but was revived in the ambulance, and was in a coma for some time. Eventually he came out of the coma, but was slightly brain damaged and had lost his ability to speak and use most of his body strength.
Being from a Christian family, they tried all the usual customs of prayer, doctor visits, rehab and the like to try and get him to return to normal, but nothing worked. Eventually his younger brother (my moms other brother and the hippy in the family) got fed up with nothing working, and suggested they go see a voodoo lady rumored to have lived out in a very rural area in Franklin parish. My uncle agreed to go see her, and off they went. She performed some chants and rituals on him, used a method of pressure release similar to acupuncture, and had him drink some concoction that she home brewed herself....
All I can say is that after meeting her, his speech came back within a week, his brain seemed to return to its normal, pre-accident state, his motor skills returned and he was able to vividly recall the events of the accident. Later, he was awarded a good sum of money in court, and to this day is an avid Tiger fan and hunter and fisherman healthy and happy in his 60s.
From those that knew him before his tragic fall, short death and miraculous resurrection, he was said to have been a real prick. After getting a second chance at life and realizing his great luck, he lived a very humble and grateful existence and all who know him genuinely love the man.
Whether he healed on his own or through the voodoo lady's healing powers, or through God's will, i can't say and probably will never know. I do know it's a miracle he is alive though.
