I was close friends with Dave Rothenberg. He was burned over 90% of his body. Lost eyelids, ears and they made a thumb-like appendage by removing a toe from each foot. His father set him on fire in the early 80’s. He was at one point America’s most famous burn survivor.
I was a social worker at one point and enjoyed helping people find the kind of help you are looking for. There are groups, yet sometimes hard to find. I haven’t looked at anything like this in many years but I will tonight try and see what resources are still available today.
