Exactly. It's why you saw Punta Gorda take an almost identical hit as it took from Charley 18 years ago and not have issues now. I believe Andrew was the linchpin of Florida raising their standards.

Of course nothing can stop a palm tree in saturated earth from tipping over and going through a building. From what I've seen off of Orlando TV, that was the cause of most destruction to structures. Even Daytona got hammered on the backend with wind shattered windows at cheaply built strip malls. A building is only a strong as it's weakest component.

I have no doubt this will be upgraded to a Cat 5 when they go back and review the data in the offseason. Fort Myers alone looks identical to Homestead.
