Light a fire? With what, Monopoly money? DOTD is severely underfunded to handle the amount of bridges that need replacement in this state, and the legislature cut their funds further. That I-55 crash was huge, and there’s been a ton of fiery 18 wheeler crashes on bridges the past few years. When federal money comes in, for some reason (j/k I know all y’all know the reason), it doesn’t go towards bridges.
Short version: Bridges in this state are fubar, but there’s no where near enough money budgeted by the state to fix them.

Mitch Landrieu is the one in charge of doling out the federal infrastructure money. I'm not sure that bridge is racist enough, though.

True. “Racist” bridges in NO get money, but sucks to be the rest of the state’s bridges. It’s almost safer to go old school and travel by pirogue at this point. I wish I could say the next administration will be better, but the legislature cut bridge funding in anticipation of the next administration. I guess we get what we vote for.
Good job Louisiana voters!
