In LA if the lease was filed with the mortgage office the new buyers have to honor the lease. If not, the lessee if fricked if the new buyer wants to terminate the lease. Look for something like that on google for Texas.

I assume this is in new orleans, if so I would definitely ask that section to be amended to something like 3 or 6 months or outright removed.

ETA: just saw it was in texas, disregard.

Not necessarily. I have property that is leased through a rental agency, the lease used states the property may be sold during the course of the lease and a 60 day termination of the current lease would then be in effect.

Read the fine print of your lease.
