It’s not about my IQ. I realize I’m biased against this person for other reasons, and I posted to see whether my reaction (which wasn’t extreme) was strictly because I’m biased against her. Bias confirmed.

Agreed. I hate thank you cards. I give a gift because I want to, not to obligate you to send a fricking card. A text saying "hey, I got your gift" is so much better.
But dear Lord, if I don't send my MIL a thank you card, I have to hear about it in not-so-subtle jabs for a year.
