Political correctness hits the courtroom

This is scary - a defense lawyer in a Tenn. rape case said that women are "especially good" at lying "because they're the weaker sex" during his closing argument.

His client was acquitted. The lawyer got some blowback from the local media and at least one women's group.

Thankfully, the lawyer told the media that it is not his job to worry about whether someone gets offended.

Hopefully this is an isolated incident and I give the lawyer credit for responding in the right way. But, the thought of P.C. invading the courtroom in this way is scary. I'd hate to be a defendant in a criminal case worrying about whether my lawyer was going to hold back because he was worried about post-trial criticism.
