Say whaaaaat? 6 year olds look like 10 year olds these days. Ever seen a peewee game? Those boys are pretty organized.

Or running plays that would challenge some middle school teams. You would be amazed at how many plays and how much technique the young minds can absorb, retain, and execute. We call a 3-6, they run a 3-6. We call an I formation, they get into formation. They even blitz at this age.
I thought the same thing our first year, kids pick this crap up quick man.

I am inclined to agree. That said, I think this is causing ripple effects later in life. Everything these kids touch is organized, structured, and controlled. Few of these kids can get games together on their own as they've never had to do so. Kids need to learn self-regulation and self-governance.

I wouldn't pigeon hole any sport until around age 13 when it occurs naturally due to school teams.

On our 4-6 year old team we run double reverses and a few other tricky plays that older boys phuck up all the time.

We're running wishbone and they're teaching kids several positions each.

Interesting. He showed me results from state meets and such which is where I got the numbers.
I really don't care. She's still a baby to me. She likes to swim, but she can swim in the neighborhood pool as well as she can swim on a team. Wife and I are trying to decipher if she really wants to do this or does she want to do it because her friend is doing it.
Her mom has no athletic ability and I couldn't hit a good high school curve ball. So, no aspirations of being elite or anything.

Its a nice fit for my family personally. I know half the coaches on the team and most of the people I knew in school that went to college for sports have same aged kids on the team.
Its pretty cool for my son to know a lot of kids too. He sees a lot of friends all over town.

She'll hate going to swimming too. I'd just let her be a kid. Time will tell where her interests lie.

What's wrong with this? This is what friends do. I'm 34 and I still do this today. I do things EVERY DAY that my wife wants to do.
