I have two boxes. The main direct TV box for the living room and the small one for the bedroom. I connected the iogear to the bedroom TV. It sits about 15' from the outside TV and the picture is good, no complaints. I use my phone as the remote for it. The iogear allows you to hit a button to switch from different tvs, also the transmitter powers by USB, so you can plug it to the TV and hide it on the TV itself.

Get a cheap TV at wal mart that you wont feel babd about replacing in 4 years. Get a regular articulating mount and a roku/apple tv. Also get a $30 canvas tv cover from amazon. Done.

So is general consensus to just got an LED TV and not a outdoor LED TV? What is the difference between the two? Are the outdoor ones just designed to weather being outside better?
Difference?
Specialized outdoor tv = $2000
4 regular LED tvs = $1600

A couple of opinions of mine to consider
If all the overhead cover you got is about 1 foot you might need to mount a cabinet regardless. I worry about high wind pushing rain back behind slip on TV covers.
Pretty much any TV you get is going to give a glare off direct sunlight. Our Vizio(M class I think?) is crystal when sun lights not directly on it but still watchable when it is.

It would be under an awning that comes out about a foot maybe, so some protection overhead but not a lot. I hadn't considered a cabinet

For those with regular LED TV's outside, is the picture still fine?

Had found an outdoor TV 46" LED for $2800 and I was okay with that, but I wouldn't mind saving a lot of money even if it won't last as long
Get a $400-$500 or less one and replace when it goes out. 10 or 15 yrs will go by and you still will not have hit $2800

Can you post a pic? Thinking about doing something similar. Looking for ideas.
