pretty common problem...and it is easy to solve.
Don't eat anything past about 8PM
Cut out alcohol
Go to the WalMarks and get some generic Prilosec or Nexium and take every day.
ETA: don't ignore reflux, as it commonly leads to cancer.

Go to doctor... Its pretty simple.... They may do A CT scan and see whats going on inside.... TRUST me... I DID NOT DO THIS and endede up with 14 operations just because I put off A simple scan.....

I dealt with heartburn/reflux for years, then tried Prilosec and it disappeared immediately. I couldn't believe I suffered through that all those years when all I had to do was take one Prilosec a day. If I miss even one day it returns.Gastro doc put me on a prescription med, but the Prilosec worked better than the Rx.

I used to get it pretty bad. Dealt with it for years. I cut out caffeinated drinks but it still kept coming, especially when stressed.
Started taking omeprazole, which is a generic name for Nexium. No problems at all since I starting taking that.
The PPI's like Nexium (or generic) is what will prevent heart burn and the uncomfortable bloat feeling that comes with GERD.
