Seeing an entire house moving 10-15 Mph down a river is sobering sight

Saw it after Katrina but not a river, in a neighborhood. Wild.

Give me Fire

I can't say that I agree with you there.

The Palisades fire started less than a quarter mile from a big neighborhood. Within 15 minutes of the first report homes were threatened. In around 20 minutes the first homes were involved and structure protection was full bore. At around 26 minutes from the first report of the fire to 911 homes were fully involved in two separate neighborhoods and the fire was spotting over a mile away. Within 40 minutes of the fire first being reported Palisades Drive, the main road into and out of the area, was completely backed up with vehicles driven by people fleeing the fire to the point that engines arriving to the area couldn't get through. Many of those vehicles would be completely abandoned on the road and would need to be moved by bulldozer.

It only got worse from there.
