Used it in Houston a few weeks ago..was very convenient, a lot cheaper than a cab, quicker, the vehicles were nice, and it was an overall great experience. Will never use a cab again in a city that has Uber

Eta: basically what everyone else said

Used Uber in Atlanta
$120 Airport to Lawrenceville 45 minutes
$100 Lawrenceville to Airport 1 hour
Black SUV
No worries travel
Treated like royalty
Smart Phone Ordering and Payment
Didn't smell like piss (cabs)
No sleeper cell driver like cabs
Didn't stick to the seats
AC set on the temperature I wanted, cold as hell
My music choice
Basically a limo experience

The guy who picked me up in Dallas Friday night took me back to my hotel for $7. I asked him if I could catch a Uber ride to the airport at 4am the next morning.
He offered to come pick me up, was there at 3:45am and took me to the airport for $18. I tipped him $20, as the cab ride would have cost me $60. He was a retired gentleman just using Uber to earn a few bucks on the weekends. He had a 2013 Explorer with leather, and it was a comfy ride. Great experience.

Uber customers and drivers are held accountable by the rating system, therefore everyone has something to lose if you're an a-hole. So the majority of my experiences have been pleasant.

Also using the app to track your car is incredibly helpful.

They're everything cab companies SHOULD be.

He also told me young people don't tip, but older people do. He said he makes about 15% on the ride, plus all tips. That's after Uber's fee, gas, insurance, etc.

A taxi is 1.5 times more expensive than UberX and 10x less convenient...

You do know they automatically add tip into your fare, right?

I use it because it is cheaper, usually more convenient, no cash is needed, etc. Also, ANYONE can try it for free!! Just download the app, launch it, hit the promotions tab and then enter 806c9 and you get a free ride up to $30. This is only for people that haven't used it yet.

This is huge. Whenever I send home a girl or family member I can see where they are and make sure they got home ok.

I did not. This was my first time using it. But it won't be my last.

I tried to call a taxi for a patron last night at 3:15 after the bar closed. I called 6 different times for 15 minutes and got no answer.
