Before 9/11 Candelaria had a foot bridge across the river to San Antonio del Bravo in Mexico which was closer than Presidio TX. Candelaria is at the end of Hwy 170 where the pavement ends and turns into Chispa Road that will get you south of Van Horn. However the road isn’t always distinguishable/navigable depending on conditions.
