Great thread revival.

I’ve expanded my HO layout to include 3 main lines and DCC control. Looking for a deal on a Broadway Limited N&W 611 steam locomotive to pull my passenger stuff.

Kafka, you’re an O scale guy right?

I only know one guy that was weird as hell he had one. It was kinda his secret shameful activity. The only people to ever see it were invited up when he was really drunk and then the next day he would not want to talk about it.

Grown men need to play with real trains. What I mean my real trains is a machine that can actually haul millions of tons of men and material.

I had one when i was a kid. My dad would help me design landscapes. We put some green felt like material over a sheet of plywood and turned shoeboxes into mountains with that spray sealant and spray paint.

My brother has an unbelievable collection of Lionels from the 60s. Still has boxes for everything. Only time we got play with it was around Xmas. It’s impressive, heavy steel tracks and all.

Virtual Railfan on FB has a group dedicated to model trains. I'm in it just because of how damned detailed some of those folks are - it's truly impressive. Some of them are ex railroaders who give advice to make things more authentic, some of them are the railfan psychos that stand outside and watch/video trains go by, and some are just hobbyists.
