I know exactly the dregs she has to deal with, probably just got fed up with it and said something stupid.

I could not imagine having to deal with dumb shite parents in a Mississippi delta public school on a daily basis. She lucks out somewhat because a lot of them don't give a shite about their kids' education and for the most part she was probably only dealing with one parent per kid max.
