Treason? At that time in our country, secession was a right claimed by states both north and south. After the war, Jefferson Davis was arrested for treason. He was never prosecuted after advice from prominent legal minds in the north. They argued that he would be found not guilty and this would prove the south did have the right to secede. The U S government to this day still provides grave markers to Confederate Veterans who are recognised as US Veterans. History-study it instead of being a mind-less robot.
