Instead of being appreciative of work and making the most of an opportunity, all they care about is what they’re going to get. When I interview someone under 35, it usually revolves around what we can do for them. Sorry, that’s not the way it works.
So I’m supposed to give you my body, mind and time for the next 30 years and you don’t think it’s important for me to get something out of that and know what your company is going to do for me?
Yeahhh frick you and your company

Whenever there's a thread here like "What's a good trade to get into?" I have chimed in with Fiber Optics Technician. It requires minimal training, and you can instantly have 20 job offers, paying over $70k, more if you travel/relocate.
It's nice to be validated by OP.

From what I hear, you start out at $22ish an hour but there's lots of overtime. You also pretty much get laid off every 6 months so you need to save.
Could be a good start to get into fiber. Some Fiber guys get paid just as much as lineman depending on your skillset.

Only the OT could find a way to bitch about free training to make yourself more marketable. Kings of "yea but". You'll still bitch about the oudtsourcing when none of you go get the training though.

After completing the program, you’ll be placed at a Meta data center and employed by one of Meta’s contractors – joining a community of fellow installers. You’ll continue learning on the job and earn a steady income.
Recruiters are actively reviewing resumes and local on-site interviews will be coming soon. Check out this video on the importance of data centers.
