Boy Scouts of the Brooklyn council decorated graves in preparation for Memorial Day. Over 500 scouts and their leaders took part in the annual ceremony of decorating 19,000 graves.

OEF ODA 741, A Company, 2d Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

Texas City, TX

Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey D. Kettle was killed in action on August 12, 2007 near Bar Kalakney Village, Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, while serving with ODA 741, A Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Kettle, 31, was a Special Forces engineer sergeant assigned to ODA 741, Company A, 2nd Bn., 7th SFG(A), Fort Bragg, NC.




Killed by an IED. I went to high school with his brother who also served in the Army and did multiple tours of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
