That would be flatly reckles, IMO.

It takes guts to jump out of an airplane with a parachute on and a backup chute in place. Mitigating risks doesn’t eliminate the need for some level of testicular fortitude to go through with it.

Don’t confuse this argument as me defending the actions. That’s absolutely not what I’m doing, although it would seem several here have missed the point. It takes a sorry arse individual to destroy someone else’s property - especially a memorial of any kind.

Make the kid spend a couple of days with a few SEALs to go through some “rehabilitation”. I’m sure a few retired guys in the area would be more than happy to give him/her a glimpse into SEAL life and training. Make the kid write a report of their experience as a “punishment” of sorts. Who knows it may actually make them want to pursue a military career afterwards. Jail time for this for a 14yr old would be a bit dumb IMO.
