People would use those old rope pull-through deals, but that never lasted that long.

The water pump on a Ford 3.5 or 3.7 in a sedan or SUV application is buried under the front timing cover, ran off the timing chains. Figure 20 hours of labor and plan on replacing all 3 timing chains, guides, tensioner and stretch yield bolts that hold the cam phasers on while your at it. Been there, done that.
The 3.5 and 3.7 engine in F-150, Mustang and Expedition is different. Water pump is ran off the serpentine belt.
