Called the shop who fixed my ac. They said there was no way debris got in when they changed my compressor because they put in a filter. 
Then they told me the warranty was only 12 months and hung up on me.

I've seen this one home units, but not in an automotive application.
If they pulled a vacuum and did an oil charge, that will almost always suffice.
And the new shop can check for a filter...
Obviously, the new shop has checked all o-rings and orifice for signs of visual damage.
Had an air pump fail on a brand-new RV due to am over-tightened air line fitting. It was a neat trick driving with no air brakes.

They were jerks the whole time the repair was happening. I had to have my dad call once.
