if your gma, who is normally alert and oriented, suddenly becomes disoriented and batshit crazy- get her checked for a UTI.

Old ppl develop urosepsis vv easily from UTI's and often times, the only symptom they have is the altered mental status.

Is this something I have to worry about since they think I had a uti that developed into the kidney infection? I’m not sure I agree bc I had zero symptoms of uti and pretty sure I’d know if I had one then.

probably not at your age now. it's more common in the elderly- like >60's

lost both my parents in my early 30's would love to have a dementia one now and have been around prior
