Not being a sufferer I can offer no experience. I know that they aren't really hollow though. It could be very painful and lead to a lengthy time of painful recovery.

My friend has a mini pet pig. It’s now the size of a cocker spaniel. She’s really sweet and loves kisses on the nose.
