My experience with FEMA wasn't bad. I had bought and renovated a house the year before. Was securely in a an X. No flood insurance. 2 ft up.

Inspection happened within a few days, had all my documentation, guy wanted to pay for a bunch of things I put above the flood water and my car, I declined since items survived and were in storage again car was covered by insurance.

I got near max. Guy was talking about dealing with people told to go stand in front of abandoned houses pretending to be an owner. Was probably nice to deal with full documentation, no bullshite.

So you mad at them for having alcohol with their dinner? You sound especially bitter about something you know very little about. I worked in several DRCs in Baton Rouge, Ascension, Baker, Zachary and other places. I never seen this. These are folks who, although not trained in this work, are asked to leave their families for over 6 months and to help people they have never met. These are very good people and very caring. God bless them for putting up with shitty living conditions and being separated from their families to help strangers.
