True. I prefer my smoker because it’s my alone time and gives me a chance to enjoy my whiskey and cigar in peace.

I have had prime rib once in my life, and that was at crazy johnnies, and it tasted like...ham. And I don’t like ham, so I never ordered it again.

Georgia, that must be painful and I hope you have the emotional fortitude to not take it ppersonally.

When he is in a good moment, ask him to talk about his youth. He may be embarrassed and confused, he may want someone to hold his hand and listen to what he remembers.

My MawMaw (passed age 87) was completely lucid til the end. She woke up up in a nursing home and was not happy about it. I think she was frustrated about her body failing and wanted respect and acknowledgment.

We brought old photos and her high school scrapbook to tell us about (she graduated in 1940’s ) and we recorded hours of her recounting shenanigans. She would not eat or drink previously but allowed me to spoon feed her ice cream at the time... because she wanted to talk about the scrapbook. Im so grateful for that moment.

It is difficult for us ... way more difficult for them. Sending positive thoughts your way
