they're gonna downvote you in this thread and you weren't even a dick about it like I was. You actually made perfect sense.

Buncha soft arse babies in here that don't want to deal with the fact that life isn't a cake walk.

Give it a month. Different meds like lexapro have different side effects for some. It might take you 3 or 4 different types before you find the one that is right for you.

Never taken the stuff myself but my grandmother did and she went from near impossibly negative to a joy to be around. My father called the drug "saint lexapro"

Obviously different people are different but it works amazingly well for some people.

I'd bet that most people in this thread who tell you that antidepressants are for pussies, etc., etc., don't even know how these drugs work to relieve depression.

So read this from the Mayo Clinic:
LINK

Once you understand how antidepressants work--and it's not terribly complicated--you'll see why they are so widely prescribed for treatment of depression, anxiety disorders and so forth.

I've been taking Lexapro daily for seven years and it basically relieved my suicidal obsessions, which had grown in severity to the point that if the drug hadn't worked quickly and effectively, I'd be hanging out in the Land of Kurt Cobain, Robin Williams and Ian Curtis today.
