Let’s make legitimate Louisiana comparisons..

Louisiana politics and guidelines are dated and ineffective. We get that. Comparing everything we do to Texas will never fly no matter what we do. How come it’s always compared to TX and never states similar in population and size such as Alabama or South Carolina? I know it’s our neighbor but come on. Have some realistic expectations here.

Because everything is bigger in Texas.

Exactly. So let’s make it fair and compare Texas to Florida or California. Now we got a more even comparison. Louisiana could be compared to Alabama, Oklahoma, Kentucky, South Carolina and so on.

We should go a step further and just start comparing LA to developing countries.

I think it's compared often to Texas because that's where most people that leave LA end up. If residents were leaving in droves for Alabama you'd probably have more more comparisons of the 2 states.
We actually do have a higher median household income than AL, KY and a few others and a higher per capita income than AL, SC, KY etc. So we aren't the poorest state from an individual or household income perspective.

Do yall think people in Alabama compare the state to Tennessee or Georgia? I’m sure they lose people to those states much like how we lose people to Texas.

I'm sure they do. My wife is from Alabama actually. She was moved to LA because her job relocated here.

Alabama ain’t even that bad. Cullman is a cool town I’d live there. I’ve heard Huntsville is the place to be now days. BHam suburbs seem very nice too.

Not sure why this got anchored. Bama is fine. Huntsville is the only decent sized city that I'd consider living in the city proper. The Birmingham suburbs are nice.

I’ve never been to Huntsville but I’ve heard it’s legit and is getting better every year. It’s proximity to Nashville and ATL are good too.
