parents these days are ridiculous. I just dealt with this BS, a kid from the restaurant below my condo stole my bike, on cam, and in work uniform. Manager of the restaurant ID'd the kid. The police make a report, give me the kids name after manager ID'd him in their system. At first I feel bad bc the kids 21 and I dont press charges bc I had his number and was texting him hoping to get it back. Kid wastes of few days of my time texting me, after I initiated contact, and never brings bike back. I then shame him on facebook to all his friends I literally copied and pasted the same message to all of them, his mother happened to be one, she messages me on facebook telling me shes sorry for what her son did and would personally bring me the bike. She brings it then scolds me for embarrassing her son on facebook in front of his friends and family, and I politely said ma'am he's 21 and I would have never done this if your son was a good kid, but the cops showed me all his arrests and this isnt the first bad thing he's done, Im sorry I did what I had to do to get my bike back, I wasn't letting $4500 just go down the drain. She proceeded to say its "just a bike" and that I need to stop harassing her son, yet my bike cost more than her POS pickup truck from the 90s......I was the victim, and did everything I could since the cops couldnt help me, and not once did this mom say Im gonna kick my kids arse, it was all I need you to pull down your fake facebook with the vid of him stealing, I dont want anymore messages to his friends and our family bc you're embarrassing us.

If it was my kid, he'd have a black eye and for the record 3 weeks later and the great police department investigator is yet to contact me.
