It's just the start of the burst in the housing bubble. The market had to turn to stop being a seller's market and eventually be a buyer's market again. It just happen very quickly because President Putin wanted to lower income Russians be able to buy a house.

Meh that remains to be seen. It's going to cost at least 1 trillion USD and take a decade or more for Ukraine to rebuild. That is if Russia doesn't drop a tactical nuke or cause a meltdown at a nuclear power plant in Ukraine. Russia is going to be broke and it may have some political upheaval if the war ends badly for them, but their cities and towns will be intact and they do not have to worry about potentially being nuked (unless Putin is dumb enough to try and nuke NATO first).

From my experience Russian women like western men because they have more money and less likely to cheat on them than Russian men. Russian women think that if their husband will not buy them nice things they will go find someone who will. I can kind of understand that, but what I cannot understand is why it is embraced but scorned at the same time. Yes there are more women in Russia than men, but the male:female ration is only 0.93. The ratio favors men, but it is not so much in men's favor that women are lining up to lift their skirts and have to share a man. It is also not so against women that they cannot hope to find another man if they leave the cheating man. IDK my view is bias because of the small sample size of married couples in Russia that I know mixed in with stereotypes, or maybe it's just another example that stupidity is not limited to the USA.
