depends alot on if its a public or private company.
I work for a public company and we have a huge purchasing department and mutiple levels something has to be approved on. Only know of one person that got fired for it out here....he was in charge of a project that was replacing the cabinets in all the maintenance shops. He picked a contractor and submitted everything, choosing low bid. Problem was...he was silent partner in that company and was actually majority owner. My current boss suspected something and kept digging until he found out. he was escorted out the plant.
as far as fbi getting involved....thats for things like public contracts and bullshite like that.
