The last year my wife rode before Covid, Nyx charged their members $15.00 to park their car to load the float.
And
The $85.00 payment for the required on float meal and a DJ system = a brown bag with goldfish, a shitty sandwich, members mark bottled water, and the dj system was wires hanging out of outlets…. And to top it off, the float Captain kept the money and didn’t pay the tractor driver after the parade.
There’s about 5000 stories like this. She now rides Cleo with about 1000 former nyx women.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now, lol.
Haven't they had major issues with parading on time with knocking out power one year and getting stuck on a tree, this year?
Multiple parades have issues with certain parts of St. Charles. It's not a Cleopatra thing. It's more on the float designers that seem to forget they have to roll down an oak-lined, narrow street.
And it absolutely is one of the best nights. The crowds aren't terrible. It's mostly locals. They throws tons of shite to the kids. I'm at the point now where that entire first weekend is more enjoyable than the second weekend. The crowds have been massive the last few years.

Petty norleans area women cannot easily be labeled or explained.

That's usually done by the float lieutenant huh?
Was it the krewe who put that in...? Weird.
I ride in Endymion and we have "float dues" collected by the lieutenant, not by the krewe, for a sandwich and drinks, which included beer water and soft drinks, and pre meal at Dome where we get dressed.

I dunno, that sounds like total BS, If the drivers weren't paid, we would've heard about that...
I don't know if Nyx used Kern back then, but the drivers were usually paid by Blain Kern.

Someone should do a documentary on Nyx. It is ironic that despite all the shady & corrupt crap that Julie Lea was doing is that it took her verbally saying out loud that “All Lives Matter” that broke the entire organization. We are truly living in clown world.
