Trust me on this one: there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to help your friend until SHE decides it's time for her to get help.

I was made aware that he was on probation and he gave me his PO phone number out of purely wanting to convince me he was going to live his life better. I hired him anyway because he truly seemed like he was trying to turn his life around. For a long time, he stayed on course... He got around his old buddies and did a downward spiral.

If you are honestly trying to help your friend, I applaud you. If you're just trying to get her in trouble, damn you... Jk

It's easy, if you're a real friend... Go into the free public records and call the jail. Tell them your friend ____ was back to her old suspicious self and you are concerned about her. She has a monthly meeting with her PO and you need to know their name and number so you can call and get them to come out and check on her earlier than expected to do a welfare check. You are afraid drugs are back in the picture. That should do it with the swiftness.

I have to add my input since I am a retired Probation Officer.

Your girlfriend is probably screwing her dealer. She's an addict and she will do anything to get her fix and to get by.

Involving yourself in this guys business is one hell of a risk. If you do it, there is always a chance he could figure it out and mess you up. After all, you both are screwing the same drug addicted girl.

If you must get involved, call the probation office and ask for the Duty Officer. Pass the information along and they will do their jobs.

Personally, I advise against it.

Dump the girl and move on.
