If you're tired of the daily barrage of racial strife news, check this story out. No synopsis, it would ruin the story for you.

That could be changing, though. A recently published book entitled "Devotion" examines the unlikely relationship between Brown and Hudner, one the product of an affluent New England family, the other the son in a family of sharecroppers who lived in a shack with no electricity or central heating. The book's author, Adam Makos, says Brown and Hudner were able to forge a friendship across racial lines in an America that was even more divided by race than today.

Great read!
From your quote... Today's America is not a fricking measuring stick for racial tension. Black people aren't being lynched in the fricking streets. I hate that people think racism is honestly some huge issue, and not a mental block and/or crutch for those who are unfortunately poor.
Racism in those days (of the article) was real. Today, racism is people choosing to be offended by stupid shite.
to Hudner and Brown. REAL Americans, looking past race and being there for each other despite clear differences.
