Whatever you do, get it in writing! I went to work for family with promises of this and that and a lot of it turned out to be complete BS. It really damaged my family's relationship with that part of the family and that's the sad part. Get everything in writing because talk/promises don't pay the bills! Good luck!

Respectfully, an honest answer isn't necessarily and informed answer.
And any true friend would give you an opinion with your best interest in mind...nothing wrong with that. Your question involves so many nuance factors, that only someone close to you could know:
wife/girlfriend/kids?

Wife and 4 kids.

Wife told me to take any job before knowing any details beyond a normal 40 hour week.

work from home/ office/ the road?

It's construction. Never from home or on the road. The office is the jobsite.
friends at work?/ relationship with boss?

That's tricky. The boss goes to church with my dad. My dad thinks he's an upstanding guy.

your age?/ personal financial concerns?

I'm 44, have next to no debt, own my home with 2-1/2 acres of land but my wife has àn Amazon account (which is used often)

and so on and so on

I'm now moving on.

Another poster asked to keep everyone posted. I'm doing that.

I really appreciate your insight, tho.

Seems like you know my bosses or what my NDA said.
