I-10 traffic/accident - Orange County (TX)

Any of you baws heading into Louisiana from Texas, I-10 eastbound is closed in Vidor, due to an accident involving a tanker truck. The tank was punctured and it will reportedly be a lengthy cleanup - unsure what it was carrying. Traffic is backed up pretty bad already.
An alternate route, if coming from Beaumont/Houston, is to take 96 south out of Beaumont to Port Arthur, and then 73/87 to Orange to reconnect with I-10.
If anyone has a better route, please jump in.
Safe travels, everyone.

If you are still in Houston , take TX73 at Winnie and head thru Port Athur and Bridge City, and follow it all the way back to I-10.
It's a 4 lane state hiway (crazy idea huh) with a 75mph speed limit.

Thanks. Not too familiar with that area.
That is a crazy idea. Who'da thunk that kind of thing would work?
