Interesting. I came close to growing up in Gadsden. When my grandfather came home from WWII he and my grandmother moved there and he got a job at the old Republic Steel. One day his foreman pissed him off over something so he beat the hell out of him with his thermos of all things. After that the moved back to his family's ancestral land in Guntersville. The rest is history.

Were it not for his boss pissing him off, they'd have stayed in Gadsden where my mom would have grown up and thus me after her.
