The only reason they recognized all those losses is because they had the profits to offset from other business units and didn’t want to pay taxes. They would have drug out all that r&d and dev expense if they had to. This is just tax accounting.

No one’s getting out of the EV game. They needed to build out development and supply chains for BEV and PHEV. We probably will see a shift to more PHEV, but they’re here to stay BEV will continue to be a smaller market for city dwellers and second cars.
