Less than a day. Got a rapid test and results came back positive. Subsequently got a PCR test hours later, which came back negative.

Tested again 14 days after my symptoms started and I was negative. It was a rapid test so my confidence level is low.

This doesn’t make any sense

You can test positive for up to 90 days but CDC and every other authority on the planet says that you’re no longer contagious 10 days after initial symptoms as long as your symptoms continue to improve.

There’s no reason you can’t return to work as long as your symptoms have improved

Correct, test will still detect dead viral proteins but you aren’t contagious. I had a patient who got better, no symptoms but couldn’t get chemo for her cancer because she was still testing +.

I give people notes stating per CDC guidelines they are able to return to work without restrictions and repeat testing is not recommended.

Texas Health Department said not to test again because of the 90 day thing. They said do a ten day quarantine and then free to return to work.

They told me to call them back or my Dr. if I needed documentation for work.

Most workplaces have moved to ok to return after quarantine.

Yeah, some places are run by idiots.

My second contact tracing call (from the county?) said that I cleared after 10 days (with a positive test) but that a close contact had to quarantine for 14 days (after testing negative) because they weren't following CDC guidelines until AFTER the holidays.

My company is 72 hours of symptom free after testing positive you can return to work. Which I find strange considering how liberal my company has been about it

My mom had covid in August and tested positive via rapid test just last week. Doc did a blood test that same day which came back showing no active virus and antibodies in her blood.

When I tested positive and went back 2 weeks later to get re-tested similar to how you just did, Doc told me it was a worthless test because it was 100% going to show up still positive, which it did. They gave me a signed letter to return to work.

ETA: My understanding (and somebody please correct me) is that the rapid test tests for the presence of the virus, and not whether the virus is active or not.
