That's my cousin's name.
My dad's side of the family owned a stable on River Road when I was younger.
Her dad ran the stable, maybe as a second job. She had always wanted to be a vet. I was told her husband quit his job and started riding around with her to farm calls.
My fil is an equine vet in New Orleans, and my wife works in a mixed animal practice and for the LA Racing Commision. They all know each other.

Your wife would know my wife in all likelihood. I still have my own career. We couldn't work together- a little too much togetherness!

Small world.
Mine's been practicing for a while, but her dad's been at it for 30 years.
Treated Curling and was friends with the owner. Poor attorney is locked up for what amounts to the rest of his life for tax evasion.

I hang out in the paddock bar area
Was hoping my 2 yr old would be ready to go but he stress fractured a tibia. There's a chance he can still make a start or 2 at the end of the meet.
Fairgrounds is the only track in Louisiana that I enjoy going to.

Not that I have a clue how to bet them.

I'll let you do the betting.
FIL tells a story about some badass horse he wanted his brother to buy with him at one point. When they went to see it together, the idiot horse beat his head against the cynderblock wall to death.
